My name is Benjamin "Benford" Krummenacher. Benford was a high school nickname that stuck around and now it's too late to do anything about. People also call me Benny or Ben. I really don't have a preference.

I'm a first-year Ph.D. student in the Joint Carnegie Mellon-University of Pittsburgh Ph.D. Program in Computational Biology (CPBP). I am co-advised by Robin E. C. Lee and David Koes. I finished my undergrad in 2024 at Carnegie Mellon, where I studied art and biology in the BXA interdisciplinary program (particularly, BSA). I ended up mostly doing computational stuff for both disciplines and was mentored most by Golan Levin during his last two years as director of the Studio for Creative Inquiry and Mustafa Guler during his last three years as a PhD student in the Mohimani Lab.

I've been in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the majority of the last six or so years, but I'm from St. Louis, Missouri. I went to an all-boys catholic high school called St. Louis University High School (SLUH), which is something most people from St. Louis will ask about. I went to St. Margaret of Scotland school before then.

I'm trying to return to an art practice post-graduation, but it's been hard. I have some old and in-progress art projects here.

I'm also a musician under the name Benny Benji and sometimes play shows around Pittsburgh, but release stuff more often than I play live. You can listen on streaming services.

At the top of this page are links to different topics. It's all very in-progress. Feel free to contact me with issues or suggestions.

I maintain a little piece of gopherspace: gopher://sdf.org/1/users/benfordslaw. This, as well as my email (below), are provided by SDF Public Access UNIX System.
